Over the last four years Thurrock Children have attended the Walk Online Roadshows organised by Thurrock LSCB. The event has raised awareness around the positives and also the risks associated with today's ever changing technology and social media.
These events, led by professionals, have included anoymous surveys about children's use of the internet. Some of the responses obtained indicate that we as adults need to understand a lot more about the "virtual world" and the impact it may have on our children's lives.
We would like to offer you the opportunity to attend free of charge our parents version of Walk Online, details of which can be found below.
At this event, we will tell you the full extent and risks that children face when they engage in the virtual world. We can no longer afford to put our head in the sand as adults/parents and carers and need to be in a position to offer them support.
The event will share what the children have told us, look at current websites and apps being used and the risks children face.
A big thank you to those of you that took part in the Walk On Line Roadshows in March 2017.
We had a successful turn out from the Primary Schools attending the Walk On Line Roadshow with 2,300 pupils from across the Borough.attending
