Thurrock LSCB are pleased to provide FREE of CHARGE online training courses for professsional working in Thurrock supporting the safeguarding needs of our children and young people.

Hidden Harm - The effect of parental drug and alcohol misuse on children
It is estimated that there are 1.5 million children of problem drug and alcohol users in the U.K. (ACMD 2006). Services naturally focus their attention on the problem user; but in this process, the effects on the children can be overlooked. There is now a government directive that aims to raise awareness of this issue and increase opportunities for early intervention.

An Introduction to FGM, Forced Marriage, Spirit Possession and Honour Based Violence
It is vital that all children recieve the same care and safeguards with regards to abuse and neglect, regardless of their background. As a result, this e-learning module has been developed to help practitioners working with children, young people and their families to be sulturally aware during the course of their work and involvement.
